How Many Acoustic Panels Do I Need?
The math is simple because our acoustic wood slat panels are 2 feet wide. Measure your wall width in feet, divide by 2, and that's your panel count. Match the panel length (8, 9 or 10 ft) to your ceiling height. Below: the exact formula, worked examples, and the mistakes to avoid.
The formula
Panels needed = wall width (ft) ÷ 2, rounded up. Panel length = your ceiling height: 8 ft panels for 8 ft ceilings ($99), 9 ft for 9 ft ceilings ($120), 10 ft for 10 ft ceilings ($135).
Worked examples
10 ft wide × 8 ft high wall → 10 ÷ 2 = 5 panels (8 ft) → 5 × $99 = $495. 12 ft wide × 9 ft high wall → 12 ÷ 2 = 6 panels (9 ft) → 6 × $120 = $720. 14 ft wide × 10 ft high wall → 14 ÷ 2 = 7 panels (10 ft) → 7 × $135 = $945. 8 ft wide × 9 ft high TV wall → 8 ÷ 2 = 4 panels (9 ft) → 4 × $120 = $480.
Partial walls and TV walls
You don't have to cover the full wall. A centered 6–8 ft wide slat section behind a TV (3–4 panels) with LED light lines looks intentional and costs less than full coverage. For a 65-inch TV, 3 panels (6 ft wide) is the sweet spot; for 75-inch and up, go 4 panels (8 ft wide).
Common mistakes
1. Forgetting outlets and switches — plan panel seams around them, or ask our installers. 2. Ignoring the ceiling height — 9 ft panels on an 8 ft ceiling means cutting every panel; buy the right length. 3. Not buying one spare — one extra panel covers cutting mistakes and future repairs. 4. Measuring the wrong wall — measure the exact wall getting panels, not the room.
